About Denise Hurtig/ Kinesiologist
Denise Hurtig is a Self Employed Kinesiologist who assists in rehabilitation and recovery for individuals with various medical needs caused by work or motor vehicle accidents, chronic use or deterioration from age or illness. Her purpose and mission is to assist individual’s in taking responsibility for their health and assisting them in living their best lives.Before starting her career in Kinesiology, Denise completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education at the University of Saskatchewan. While at the U of S she worked as a Student Athletic therapist for various Varsity teams including football, volleyball, soccer and high school student summer camps. She moved from Saskatoon to Edmonton and spent a short stint as a Physiotherapist assistant working with the elderly at a care home. Denise then moved to British Columbia and became a member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists in 1997. Denise has worked in a variety of roles while in BC performing rehabilitation, permanent functional impairment evaluations, functional capacity evaluations, job demand analysis, post offer employment assessments and ergonomic assessments.She enjoys gardening, walking/hiking with her golden retriever, working out in her home gym, kayaking, meditating, golfing, biking and swimming..
