Practitioner Bio
I am a Counsellor, co-founder of a non-profit organization, volunteer, wife, and a mother of two children. I enjoy outdoor activities and am fortunate to enjoy excellent health. My interests include skiing, boating, hiking, photography, travel, and spending time with my family and friends.
I have been interested in Counselling and Psychology for many years. I received a BSc, with a double major in Psychology and Linguistics followed by various jobs and volunteer opportunities that have fed my desire to help others and learn more about mental health. In 2016 I opened my private practice as a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor specializing in trauma resolution.
What I have found to be true is that there is no greater learning than experiencing an event for yourself. In 2013 I almost lost my life in a river rafting accident while vacationing with my family in Italy. My world shifted that day. The trauma of that event led me down a difficult path but ultimately to a path of recovery and a career in Counselling.
I have experienced post traumatic symptoms and understand the struggles that come with witnessing or experiencing an event that is far too much to bear. I am now more driven and dedicated than ever to helping others as they navigate challenges in life and more specifically, the aftershocks of trauma and PTSD.
