At the age of five Estelle discovered the therapeutic and healing benefits of art and play therapy when faced with a life challenge. She continued to use fine and performing arts as a supporting tool during life's difficulties. Estelle’s decision to pursue a career in Art Therapy sprung from all these experiences that were hard to express and process with words, but that could easily be capture in art.
Throughout her postgraduate diploma at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute, Estelle was passionate about art therapy research and treatments for adoptees with attachment challenges, psychoneuroimmunology, and managing PTSD symptoms for first responders. Estelle gained valuable experience from diverse practicum placements including a youth correctional facility, elementary schools, rehabilitation clinic, school clinic, and a community center. There she worked with all ages, experienced numerous populations, and honed in on her passion.
Estelle is currently working out of her private Art Therapy Practice downtown Vancouver and at Fair Haven Seniors home, Estelle is a former Executive on the Board of Directors for the BC Art Therapy Association.
Estelle is passionate about working through the difficult, the darkness, the emotional numbness, and tapping into the deeper self.
